Supporting your Child
Standards of Behaviour
At Callicroft we use a lot of rewards to encourage the behaviour and values we wish to uphold here. It is really helpful for your child if both rewards and consequences can be supported from home. If your child comes home with a purple or green sticker or a certificate, you may wish to reward them with something small at home eg KS1 child may have 10 minutes more play time at home than normal; KS2 child, 20 minutes. Similarly, if they receive a consequence such as a red card for poor behaviour, this could be supported by the removal of a favourite toy for 30 mins—1 hour.
Daily:- We use ClassDojo on a daily basis to reward children for displaying school values. The children may also receive a green sticker. If the reward is to do with some outstanding learning, then a purple sticker is given.
Weekly:- On Friday celebration assembly, 2 children from each class are given VIP (Values in Practice)certificates and are invited to sit on the top table
Termly:- The highest earning house point children in the whole school are presented with VIP certificates. They earn the honour of attending the Purple Party with Mrs Antwis. Parents are invited to come in to see their child on the VIP Wall of Fame.
Christmas, Easter & Summer: - Always Children are celebrated! They have an extra afternoon either on a small trip or additional playtime or perhaps a film and popcorn.
